The findings

What it does. You describe what you want and Lovable's agent builds a working web app, with hosting and a database, then changes it as you keep chatting; a plan mode lets you agree the approach first. Lovable says more than 60 million projects have been made since it launched in November 2024. It raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation in August 2026.

Where it falls short. Many of its users cannot check the security of what it builds, and twice researchers have found data exposed. Credits are spent per change, so heavy iteration costs more than the headline price suggests.

Incidents

  • 2025-05-30 A vulnerability was recorded (CVE-2025-48757) in which insufficient row-level security in Lovable-generated sites let unauthenticated attackers read or write their database tables; Lovable disputes it, saying each customer is responsible for protecting their own app's data. Source
  • 2026-04-20 Researchers reported that the chat history and source code of public Lovable projects had been readable by other users with a link since 3 February 2026; Lovable fixed it within two hours and later said its product and its initial response "missed the mark". Source
