# Perplexity Email Assistant (Perplexity)

Perplexity Email Assistant is an in-app vertical AI agent from Perplexity. An assistant you copy into email threads: it sorts your inbox, drafts replies in your style and sets up meetings by checking calendars and sending invites. Nearfi's Agent Index rates its autonomy 4/5 (multi-step on its own): VentureBeat reports meeting coordination happens without human intervention and invites can go out automatically, so it completes the task and you check afterwards. It is not 5 because you start it by emailing or copying it in, rather than it acting unprompted. Status: live; 0 incident(s) logged.

- Category: Personal helper · vertical · In-app
- What it does: Launched on 22 September 2025 for Perplexity Max subscribers, it works inside Gmail and Outlook. It labels messages, drafts replies matching the user's writing style, sends daily summaries and finds meeting times, sending invites itself. Perplexity says emails are never used to train its models.
- Limits: It needs permission to read and send email, see contacts and change calendars, which raises privacy questions. VentureBeat cites a TechCrunch review of Perplexity's related Comet assistant that found it fell apart on complex requests, with wrong dates on bookings, and that review concerned Comet, not this tool. Neither article says whether replies need approval before sending.
