Study and Learn Agent is an in-app vertical AI agent from Microsoft. A study coach inside Microsoft 365 Copilot that builds flashcards, quizzes and practice activities from a student's own material. Nearfi's Agent Index rates its autonomy 2/5 (acts when asked): it acts when asked, producing flashcards, quizzes and activities from a student's material, but it is built to coach rather than do the work and takes no steps outside Copilot; it is not 1 because it generates finished study materials rather than only recommending. - What it does: Students open it from the Microsoft 365 Copilot app or Copilot Chat. It leads with questions, asks the student to try first, and generates flashcards, quizzes and matching or fill-in-the-blank activities from uploaded material, a topic name or a linked web resource. Microsoft says the learner 'stays in the driver's seat'.
- Limits: It acts only inside Copilot and produces study material; it does not submit work or touch school systems. At launch it was optimised only for English (US), images were links rather than inline, and for 13–17-year-olds it stays off until an administrator enables Copilot Chat.
