What it does. Announced with Sutter Health on 17 September 2025, Hyro's agents take calls and messages 24/7 for appointment management, scheduling, prescription management and billing questions. They route by the patient's goal, resolve some requests end to end, and hand off to a live agent with the conversation context. Sutter's governance council set safeguards, including data sources with citations and HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance.
Where it falls short. The vendor's press release does not say what the agents cannot do. Its performance figures, such as an 85% average drop in abandonment, come from Hyro's work across 40+ health systems, not from Sutter; no Sutter outcome data had been reported. It is not clinical advice and not a route to emergency care.
