# Composer (Composer (acquired by SoFi))

Composer is a standalone vertical AI agent from Composer (acquired by SoFi). A no-code investing platform where you describe a trading strategy in plain English, backtest it, and let Composer run it in a brokerage account. Nearfi's Agent Index rates its autonomy 5/5 (ongoing, unprompted): once a user turns a strategy on, Composer says it makes trades and rebalances automatically, with no per-trade approval. It is not lower because execution is continuous; the user chooses and funds the strategy, so the judgement stays human. Status: live; 0 incident(s) logged.

- Category: Finance & investing · vertical · Standalone
- What it does: Users build rule-based strategies, with AI help from a prompt, backtest them and switch them on; Composer then trades and rebalances automatically, with clearing by Alpaca Securities and Apex Clearing. Business Wire coverage dates its 'Trade with AI' feature to October 2025. SoFi announced on 23 June 2026 that it was buying Composer; terms were not disclosed.
- Limits: Capital is at risk and backtests do not guarantee future results; Composer's own disclosures say the portfolio can go down as well as up and it gives no tax advice. Plan prices and the account approval process were not shown on the pages opened, and the company's volume and performance claims are its own.
