# AWS DevOps Agent (Amazon Web Services)

AWS DevOps Agent is a standalone vertical AI agent from Amazon Web Services. An AWS agent that investigates production incidents when alerts fire and proposes how to fix and prevent them. Nearfi's Agent Index rates its autonomy 4/5 (multi-step on its own): it starts investigating when an alert arrives, without a prompt, and returns a root cause and mitigation steps; AWS's pages do not say whether it applies fixes itself, so it is not 5, and it does not wait for a prompt, so it is not 3. Status: live; 0 incident(s) logged.

- Category: Coding · vertical · Standalone
- What it does: AWS calls it a frontier agent for release management and production operations. It begins an investigation when an alert from CloudWatch or PagerDuty arrives, correlates telemetry, code and deployment data, and sends findings to Slack, ServiceNow or PagerDuty. It also analyses past incidents to recommend improvements, and runs custom agents on a schedule. Release-readiness checks and release testing are labelled preview.
- Limits: Neither AWS's page nor InfoQ describes an approval or accountability model for actions. The widely quoted gains, such as up to 75% lower time to resolve, come from preview-period customer claims that InfoQ did not verify. The console is reached in us-east-1.
